General club information

Welcome to EUSAC

We are a scuba diving club based at the University of Essex, providing great opportunities for experienced divers and novices alike. If you’ve never dived before, why not come along to a Try Dive session allowing you to experience what it’s like to breathe underwater. Those who already hold a diving certification can fun dive with us or enrol on any of our courses to gain additional experience. We run various diving trips throughout the UK as well as overseas depending on interest and demand. Heard enough? Sub Aqua

We often get asked "What is Sub Aqua?". In this context, sub aqua means scuba diving. Scuba stands for Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. This equipment allows you to breathe underwater. Think of it like snorkeling on steroids - it's great fun!

PADI & SSI

The Professional Association of Diving Instructors and Scuba Schools International are both global organisations providing training in various levels of scuba diving. We can teach any of the wide range of courses available through their curriculums.

It doesn't matter who you have trained with, divers from all scuba organisations are welcome.

Course discounts

We know that scuba diving isn't the cheapest sport! If you've ever wanted to learn to scuba dive, chances are this will be your cheapest opportunity. We are able to offer courses at significant discounts compared to other dive centres.

Course equipment provided

When you enrol on any of our courses, we will provide free scuba equipment for the complete duration of your training. You don't need to worry about bringing anything with you. We'll provide everything you need to complete your certification.

Equipment discounts

If you decide to purchase any of your own scuba equipment, we can offer you discounts off the standard retail prices you will find elsewhere. We can also advise on the best type of equipment needed for UK diving and the trips we run.

High training standards

Access to professional instruction by our highly qualified and friendly diving instructors, in a safe and controlled environment. They'll even share their own experiences, equipment recommendations, tips and tricks to help you along the way.

Full teaching packs

We provide full teaching packs and materials for all courses. This often includes a manual, videos and any dive planning materials required for that particular course. Other dive centres sometimes loan you these, but we think they should be yours forever.

Trips & holidays

Diving is more fun when you get to do it with a group of people you know, right? We run regular diving trips in the UK and also organise club holidays abroad (where the water's warmer!) when there is interest. Let us know where you would like to go.

Socials

You know what they say about all work and no play. Come along to our club socials and get to know other members. Meet and have fun with people who share a common interest. We all love to dive, eat, drink, party... Come and join us!
